Free Gun Cleaning Class FGCC

We had a good group of people in September come to my Free Gun Cleaning Class (FGCC) on Wednesday nights. I think those that attended are better off now that they know how to properly clean a handgun. That being said you should also understand that there are many ways to clean your handgun and they are probably all better than not doing it at all. I am teaching the way I have always done it. The idea is to get all the leftover grunge from the firing cycle out of your gun and to lubricate it so that it runs properly and does not malfunction on you when you need it the most. Many of the modern handguns that we own could probably be fired literally hundreds of times with no cleaning and probably never hickup even once. But do we want to take that chance? I personally do not like to carry a fired gun for self-defense. Do I clean my guns after every firing? No many times I don't, but if I fire my everyday carry (EDC) handgun then I always try to clean it right away. Let me tell you a story I heard about a man who was with his family at the mall. While they were shopping there was a shooting in one of the areas of the mall. They quickly moved to the exits only to find that the police had already locked down the facility and were now searching for the perpetrator. When confronted at the exit he declared his firearm to the police and upon inspection, they found the gun was recently fired. This man had to go through some unnecessary scrutiny because his firearm was recently fired and not cleaned and they had to eliminate him as a suspect. Cleaning a gun is like many things in the firearm industry there are a million ways to do it. There is not just one correct way. Find a way that is easy for you and maintain your firearm so that it will work when you need it the most. I will probably have another one of these sessions in November for those that missed and want to attend. Watch for the announcement late in October
Revolver Only Class
I have decided since there is a resurgence in revolver popularity as a deep concealment handgun, I would put a 4-hour course together for anyone wishing to get up to speed on snub nose revolvers for self-defense. The class is going to be lecture and live fire with live fire encompassing 2 hours at the range. You will shoot the Retired LA PD Officer Qualification at the end of class. Many of you carry a revolver part-time based on the time of year (hot time of year-less clothes-running or biking) or maybe when you are going into a non-permissive environment. Can you use your revolver effectively? You need to know how to practice with that gun so that you can actually defend yourself and your loved ones should you need to. This program is based on a popular nationally recognized program on the same topic. Gun, Holster, and ammunition will be required. I will try to pick a weekend date late in October or early November so you can plan to attend. Pricing will be similar to my other offerings.

Free Metro DC Gun Safety Course
I completed the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Police Department Online Firearms Safety Training Course. It’s actually well done and informative. There are a few parts particular to D.C. laws but other than that, nothing extremely unpleasant. The animations are well done and informative for newcomers to firearms ownership. The course is short and gives you some documented proof of firearms training for your file.
Pepper Spray Training
Pepper Spray is legal everywhere in Colorado. It is one of the best ways we have to defend property in this state. It also serves as a complement defensive tool for anyone that carries a handgun for self-defense. Remember if all you carry is a gun the legal system can say that you intend to use a gun as a solution for everything. Statistics indicate that most self-defense encounters would not qualify for use of a gun (your life is not in danger). I have developed a booklet for the use of OC/Pepper Spray. Feel free to read it and discuss it with your family. Contact me direct for the best OC/Pepper Spray at wholesale prices.

This helps give you the confidence that you can use your firearm effectively, and it gives you some documentation so that you can fight a charge of Negligence in a self-defense shooting when necessary. Talk to me about these qualifications. Many of them are easy to set up and do at the range without a lot of time commitment or expense.
